When we synchronize with the wonderful vibrations of the universe,
we can better resonate with our own true selves. By Fifi Kao
In this busy world, people have many thoughts and are busy with social engagements. If the surrounding environment is noisy, the body and mind naturally enter a state of chaos, which electroencephalogram (EEG) studies refer to as frequency tracking. This symptom of excessive “Yang” energy in the body can easily cause the autonomic nervous system to become unbalanced, causing stress to various systems of the body, including muscles, bones, energy, emotions, and psychology. Over time, this can lead to imbalances in sleep, brain function, memory, energy flow, and other physical and mental problems, even affecting imagination, decision-making, and personality.
However, we also understand the magic of the universe, where everything has energy, everything IS energy. Music and light are an effective and interesting solution for human health.
Music and human body vibrations
The universe we live in is composed of magnetic and electric fields, quietly emitting oscillations known in contemporary physics as zero-point energy. Traditional Chinese philosophy refers to this constantly changing but relatively stable state filled with oscillations as the “Dao.”
As individuals in the universe, our bodies have their own small universe of magnetic fields and regular vibrations, such as the rhythm of our heartbeat, brain waves, and intestinal contractions. When the frequency of the oscillations in the universe harmonizes with the frequency of our body’s vibrations, it produces a comfortable sensation of tranquility and relaxation. In the context of traditional Chinese philosophy, this is considered a state of “attaining the Dao.”
Hazrat Inayat Khan, a philosopher of the Sufi school, once said, “Those who know the secret of sound also know the mystery of the entire universe.” Sound is a form of vibration frequency, and music is a form of ordered vibration frequency.
More than two thousand years ago, the classic Chinese medical text “Huangdi Neijing” mentioned the theory of the five-tone healing. In traditional Chinese characters, the only difference between the characters for “music” (乐 YUE) and “medicine” (药 YAO) is the radical on top, which suggests a subtle connection between the two. The discussion and practice of music therapy and health preservation are frequently applied in traditional Chinese medicine and are ingeniously linked to the theory of the five elements and the five tones.
The melody and rhythm of music can stimulate brain cells, the autonomic nervous system, and bodily reactions, assisting in the recovery or reconstruction of mental, emotional, or social behaviors. An article in Scientific American once discussed the wonderful connection between music and the human body, particularly the significant effect of music therapy on patients with depression. The Mozart Effect, published in the scientific journal NATURE as early as 1993, confirmed through two sets of experiments that listening to Mozart’s sonatas can increase intelligence. In fact, people unconsciously use music therapy and choose different music to relax and feel happy in different emotional states.
When we listen to appropriate music, the positive effects of the sound waves on the body can help bring our small universe of vibrations into a harmonious, resonant balance, allowing our bodily organs to function well in mutual support and resonance, and allowing our bodily functions to reach their optimal state.
Alpha brainwave music and sleep
Alpha brainwaves are one of the four basic types of brainwaves. They only sometimes appear in the brain, they are not always present. When the human brain produces alpha brainwaves, it secretes a large amount of endorphins. Endorphins help promote emotional stability and pleasure, maintain a positive state of entering the right brain subconscious activity, enter an infinite space of imagination, promote creativity and imagination, and improve sleep quality.
Alpha brainwave music is an inspirational music that originated during the European Renaissance, when musicians tried to integrate information and resonance from the universe, nature, and living things into their music. Often, the music they created was alpha brainwave music. The unique sound wave frequency of this music is between 8-14Hz, and the audio waves resonate with the water in the human body, including the water in the brain, and then adjust the brainwaves of the brain to the alpha brainwaves that work in the right brain and enter a right brain state. At this time, the brain is awake and relaxed, focused, emotionally stable and happy, not easily disturbed by external factors, and can receive and transmit information by intuition, inspiration, and imagination.
The music department of the University of Melbourne found that alpha brainwave music can awaken people’s most primitive creativity, stimulate creative thinking, stabilize emotions, improve immunity, and make people feel relaxed and comfortable. People who have experienced alpha brainwave music sleep share feedback such as that they feel as if they are awake, not sleeping, that they are dreaming all the time, or feel like only a short 10-minute time has passed, while actually they have been sleeping for two hours, and wake up feeling clear-headed and refreshed.
Healing through music and light energy
Since Einstein proposed the theory that “matter is energy”, an important discovery in science is that “everything has energy” and contains certain “frequencies” and “vibration waves” that can interact with the surrounding frequencies or vibration waves. Thus, it is not difficult to understand that everything in nature operates through energy conversion. Light produces color and images, forming a spectrum, so images and light and shadow also have energy.
In the spectrum, each color has a different wavelength, frequency, and vibration, which gives each image and its associated color its specific energy characteristics. American psychologist, Simonton said: “Sensations need to be awakened, they have personality, and they are also a reflection and representation of the times in people’s minds.” Whether consciously or unconsciously, light and shadow have always been influencing us.
Energy theory believes that all things in nature are born of light and exhibit themselves through different colors and light and shadow, and they interact with each other. The colors and images displayed by light and shadow can be absorbed by humans through the eyes, skin, and skull. Every cell in the human body requires light energy, which then affects the health and growth of humans from multiple levels, including physical, emotional, and spiritual.
Therefore, musicians and artists can use the frequencies of music to influence the wavelength and frequency of the spectrum and produce light and shadow with specific energy characteristics. Especially in the case of alpha brainwave music affecting natural substances, the dancing medium seems to have the characteristics of life, bringing a dreamy effect. Through synchronous impact on human brainwaves through auditory and visual senses, the most interesting thing is that each individual has different feelings.
When we synchronize with the wonderful vibrations of the universe, we can better resonate with our own true selves.
