The Covid-19 outbreak has a great impact on the import and export trade industry. On June 7, the data released by the General Administration of Customs showed that China’s foreign import and export trade volume in May amounted to 2.47 trillion yuan, showing a year-on-year decrease of 4.9%. Among them, exports continued the growth trend of the previous month, yet the year-on-year decline of imports was even enlarged. Experts believe that the export growth in May was mainly related to the outbreak of the overseas epidemic and the import decline resulted from two main reasons. One was price factors and the other was that the overseas epidemic prevention and control measures led to a slowdown of production activities in various countries, and thus restricted the growth of imports from the supply side.
As a result, our company Excellent Trading was also greatly impacted. We mainly focus on the import of beauty products, cosmetic devices, medical equipment and fast-moving consumer goods. We believe that the impact is only temporary, and adversity can make the company grow even stronger. So while many enterprises are cutting expenses and reducing personnel costs, we have been expanding our business and increasing sales. We even established our own information technology company and independently designed, developed and built an import operation platform.
With a simple vision of “make import easy”, YJT-Import one-stop cloud operating platform serves not only as the internal management software of the company, but also the “magic weapon” for us to serve our clients. The platform, in the form of e-commerce, features intelligent one-click import ordering function and provides services that cover every aspects of the trade from purchase, customs clearance, logistics, finance to warehousing and delivery, so as to create better and a more professional experience for importers. Second, our own business needs. The platform also solves the management and operation bottlenecks of the company. Our business covers the whole chain of import operations, but we do not have a complete set of corresponding systems to meet our requirements for business process standardization, informatization, automation and intelligentization. Third, the need for ideal software. At present, we rent four sets of systems to meet the operational needs of different businesses. There is hardly any software in the market that can meet all our needs and very often customization is required. However, it costs a lot and takes a long time to do customization on existing software. This has accelerated the pace of our research and development of an import operating platform of our own. Although at the present stage, we do this platform mainly to meet the needs of our customers, of our own business and for the software, we also want to better adapt to the changes in the industry with it.
In the initial stage of designing the platform, we were considering whether we would use it to serve customers or the industry.
