A unique Hutong hotel in Beijing is the Layering Courtyard, standing on the prosperous Qianmen Street, yet tucked away in the depths of an old Hutong in tranquility. The construction has been largely renovated but still maintains the old Siheyuan (courtyard) outlook, featuring black bricks and red arch doors. Stepping in, it’s a totally different charm. The original inner court is devided into three yards, retreating progressively from outside in, from public to privacy. The first yard features a wooden structured long hall framed by ceiling-to-floor glass windows instead of concrete walls, with fresh bamboos amidst. The second is a waterscape yard with pure white design and transparent acrylic chairs and tables, conveying a sense of the future. The innermost yard is the residence zone with seven private guest rooms spanning two floors, all equipped with hi-tech intelligent home appliances.
