Biotech startup Nowatch has brought out a new smartwatch called “Awareable” to help users track their health. Compared to traditional smartwatches, Awareable doesn’t want users to be distracted by too much information. The entire product has no pointers and no display screen, and the front area of the watch body uses replaceable gemstones, and at the bottom of the gemstones there are common smartwatch sensors, which use harmless electric current to monitor the user’s stress level, thinking level, and emotions, and then give suggestions and provide users with a detailed picture of their health. For example, the sensor monitors cortisol levels to predict when the wearer is in the early stages of stress, and in turn recommends activities such as walking or meditation. The algorithms and technology for the device were developed by Nowatch in collaboration with Philips.
