Accor’s latest flagship resort in Greater China, the Fairmont Sanya Haitang Bay has officially opened. Steeped in Chinese traditions, feng shui and comprised of historic antique architectural components from the Ming and Qing dynastic periods, the hotel looks out upon the golden coastline of the bay toward diver paradise Wuzhizhou Island. The Yun River seawater canal, a first in hotels worldwide, winds its way throughout the property. Dongyang wood carvings adorn walls and ceiling friezes. The spacious guest rooms are equally beautiful with artisanal stone and wood touches. All rooms have balconies which look out upon the tropical gardens. Guests may recline on a dragon boat as they glide through lush greenery along the Yun River. Or on to the Wood Art Gallery that showcases Huanghuali furniture and a collection of antique artefacts from both the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty.
