Rosewood Hotels & Resorts opened the brand’s first mainland Chinese resort, Rosewood Sanya, on August 21. All 246 guestrooms are ocean-facing and 45 guestrooms include balcony plunge pools. The resort’s design incorporates wood, tribal totems and aquatic elements. Set off on an art journey from the seven-meter-high abstract floral oil painting in the lobby to the gigantic rattan-woven book sculpture Shu Hai displayed behind the reception desk. Five restaurants and lounges feature a variety of local and international cuisines. HAI infinity pool bar offers standard classics and signature drinks crafted by the resident mixologist. Recreational options include Sense, A Rosewood Spa, a fully-equipped fitness studio, an indoor yoga studio and outdoor yoga platform, and a dramatic infinity-edge sky pool.
