SpaChina Summit and SpaChina Awards 2017 Successfully Concluded
The SpaChina Summit and SpaChina Awards 2017 were hosted at Fairmont Chengdu September 14 to 16. Over 270 industry insiders from 17 countries attended the annual event. Professionals both from home and abroad contributed insightful presentations. SpaChina Editor-in-Chief Fifi Kao updated attendees on current trends in the China spa market; Samantha Foster, Director of Destination Spa Management, advised on how to create creative wellness resorts with capable operation solutions; Trent Munday, senior vice president for Steiner Spa Consulting, asked “Can Hotel Spas Survive?” and pointed out that lack of innovation is hurting business; and Laurent Boillot, CEO of Guerlain, shared the story behind the company’s new Chinese-French brand, CHA LING. There were also Watsu demonstrations, workshops, cocktail parties and more. The Awards Ceremony granted prizes to 38 top leaders and innovators in China’s spa industry.

The 450-room Hotel Jen Beijing opens its doors in Beijing’s central business district. From the centerpiece tree sculpture and suspended porcelain leaves in the lobby to the copper beer vats laser-cut with Chinese zodiac signs in the gastropub, works of art can be found in every corner.
