Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone is a comprehensive ecology area for “medical tourism”, including international hospitals, organizations, high-end shopping centers, residences, and wellness institutes. Approved by the State Council in 2013, it enjoys nine preferential policies, including special permission for medical staff, technology, devices and drugs, an allowance for the entrance of foreign capital and international communications, and permission to carry out leading-edge medical technology research, such as stem cell clinical research. Since being established, 86 projects have been signed and 20 projects have started construction. Among them, the Boao Yi Ling Life Center had its soft opening early this year, providing holistic wellness solutions ranging from characteristic treatments, biomedicine, regenerative medicine, anti-aging, medical tourism to spiritual healing.
